Go big or go home, the chunky jewellery trend is here to stay!

Think super sized bangles, statement necklaces and colourful earrings. The shift towards using jewellery as a true personal statement has been a long time coming. Over the past two years with the pandemic, everyone is in need of colourful, uplifting and fun jewellery, as a way to boost their moods.

Chunky Baubles

What is better described as wearable art rather than jewellery, the chunky resin bangles are undeniably and unapologetically bold. The most recent celebrity seen to be sporting the colourful arm candy is Hailey Bieber in her latest sultry beach side shots. Styled with a yellow bikini, slicked back hair and posing on the white sandy beaches of Anguilla.

Look at me earrings

Last week Sofia Richie shared to Tik Tok in her iconic wedding weekend GRWM series, a pair of Oscar de la Renta "wooden flower cluster earrings". She describes them as "sooo south of France and festive" and we could not agree more!

Statement necklaces

You have most likely already seen across all your socials that chunky pendant necklaces are back! Thanks to the likes of fashion Influencers and celebrities such as Matilda Djerf, Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski

But before becoming a staple in Gen Z's wardrobes, the trend was a must have 90s fashion piece, first loved by a generation of celebs long before them.
In 1994, Kate Moss paired a black and silver cord necklace with a vibrant pink mini, giving us this iconic photo series. Then, in 1998, Kate Winslet made the trend her own, pairing it with a lace black gown (and Leo DiCaprio) while walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

Fast-forward to 2023, and here we find ourselves again: the pendant necklace has returned to adorn the neck of every other It-girl. The newest jewellery trend is bold and here to stay.
